Fibre ONT Login: Huawei, ZTE and Nokia Modems Used by ISPs

Open the admin page of a fibre ONT (Huawei HG8145V5, ZTE F670L, Nokia G-240W-A) at 192.168.1.1, 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.1.254, and know what not to change.

Many fibre ISPs install an ONT, the box that ends the fibre line and often has Wi-Fi built in. Its address is usually 192.168.1.1, but some ISP firmware uses 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.1.254. The ISP controls most of its settings, and that is by design.

The fibre ONT sits between the fibre line and your router, and the internet provider manages most of its settings

How to log in safely

  1. Look at the label for the model name, the address and the login. ISP firmware often differs from the factory default.
  2. Connect by Wi-Fi or a LAN cable and open the address from the label.
  3. Change only what you need: the Wi-Fi name and password, and the admin password.
  4. Leave WAN, PON and VLAN settings alone. They carry your line settings from the ISP.
  5. Reconnect your devices after a Wi-Fi change.

Common problems

Settings are missing or greyed out
The ISP locks them. Use the ISP’s app or support for those changes.
Two addresses are listed for my model
Try each. ISP firmware decides which one is used. The router IP finder shows the real one.
A second, ISP-only account exists
Some ONTs have an account meant for the ISP. Do not look for it or use it. Changing WAN settings can cut your line, and the ISP can restore it.
I want to use my own router
Connect it to the ONT and give it a different LAN range. See own router behind an ISP router.
