Google Nest Wifi, eero and Deco Login: Why There Is No Web Page

Some mesh routers have no login page in the browser. Find out how to manage Google Nest Wifi, Google Wifi, eero, TP-Link Deco and Spectrum from their apps.

If you typed 192.168.86.1 or 192.168.4.1 and saw nothing useful, that is normal. Google Nest Wifi, Google Wifi and eero are managed in an app. Nest Wifi has no web page and can only be managed with a Google account in the Google Home app.

A phone app manages two mesh routers; these systems have no login page in the browser

How to manage an app-based router

  1. Confirm your gateway with the router IP finder. For Google Nest Wifi it is normally 192.168.86.1.
  2. Install the app for your router: Google Home, eero, Deco or Spectrum.
  3. Sign in with the account that set up the network and open its Wi-Fi or network settings.
  4. If you cannot sign in, ask the person who owns the account to add you, or reset every unit with its physical button and set the network up again.

Common problems and how to fix them

I typed 192.168.86.1 and the page is blank
That is expected. The address is the gateway, not a settings page.
I cannot manage Nest Wifi from the app
Factory reset all Nest Wifi units with the physical button, then set up the network from scratch.
There is no default password
Access follows the account, not a router password. Recovering access means recovering the account.
My Deco will not show a web page
Not every model supports it. Use the Deco app.
