How to log in to your Mercusys router
- Connect your device to the Mercusys router by cable or Wi-Fi. A cable is best if you will change Wi-Fi settings or update the firmware.
- Open Firefox, Chrome or Edge and type http://mwlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
- If the browser shows a privacy warning, choose Advanced, then Proceed. Mercusys explains that the router uses a self-signed certificate.
- Create the admin password when asked. It must be 6 to 15 characters and is case sensitive.
- Log in with that password next time. On an ADSL modem-router, use admin for both the username and the password.
If the Mercusys page will not open
- mwlogin.net does not open
- Use 192.168.1.1 instead, or log in with the Mercusys app. Both options work.
- A privacy or “not secure” warning appears
- This is normal on your own router. The certificate is self-signed. Choose Advanced, then Proceed. Do not do this on public Wi-Fi.
- I forgot the password I created
- There is no default password to fall back on, so a factory reset is needed. See the reset guide.
- The page loads over HTTP but your browser forces HTTPS
- Type http:// before the address, so the browser does not switch to HTTPS.
How to keep your router secure
- Change the default admin password and use a long one that you do not use anywhere else.
- Keep the router firmware up to date.
- Turn off remote management unless you really need it.
